Nail Fungus Infection
Nail fungus infection, also known as onychomycosis, happens when a particular fungi attacks the nails. At the beginning of the infection, you may see white or yellow spots under the nail, which later spread further and make your nails brittle and discolored. Besides these, you will also find the nails to be thickened and distorted when you have a fungus infection.
Nail fungus mostly grows when your nails are subjected to warm and humid conditions for a prolonged period. For this reason, fungus infection of the toenails is much more common than fingernails, because the warm and moist environment inside a shoe is a typical breeding place for fungus. Whenever there is a cut or damage to the nails, these fungi enter the skin beneath the nails and start infecting the area.
Home Remedies for Nail Fungus and Nail Fungus Cures
There are several natural remedies that are known to be beneficial for curing nail fungus infection. Here are a few of them:

• Vinegar bath – apple cider vinegar is another good remedy for nail fungus infection. Add proportionate amount of apple cider vinegar and soak your nails in it for about 15-20 minutes each day.
• Apply alcohol – soak a cotton ball in alcohol and swab it over the infected nails.
• Use hydrogen peroxide – you can directly rub hydrogen peroxide on the infected nails or soak your nails in a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution.
• Use turmeric powder – make a paste of turmeric powder by mixing it with water. Apply this paste on the infected nails and let it dry up. Thereafter, wash off the dried turmeric with clean water.
If these home remedies do not seem to be effective, you should consult a doctor and get proper antifungal medications. It is better not to delay medication because as the infection progresses it becomes more painful and complicated.
